Ingredients

  • 2 cans (115 g) Gold Seal Mediterranean Style Wild Mackerel
  • Pickled beets or turnips
  • Sliced cucumber
  • A small handful cherry tomatoes
  • Flatbread crisps

For the Marinated Feta and Olives

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp za’atar or oregano
  • 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • A few strips of orange peel
  • ⅔  cup green olives
  • ½ cup feta cut into ⅓-in cubes

For the Labneh Dip

  • 1 cup labneh or Greek-style yoghurt
  • 2 tsp mint, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp honey
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ red pepper flakes
  • ½ lemon, juice and zest
  • Pinch salt

Directions

For the Marinated Feta and Olives

  1. Whisk together olive oil, za’atar, garlic and orange peel.
  2. Add olives and feta and toss to coat.
  3. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour, ideally longer, to let flavours mingle.

To Make Labneh dip

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir until smooth.

To assemble the Mezze Board

  1. Place small dishes of olives and labneh onto a serving board.
  2. Nestle a can of Gold Seal Mediterranean-style wild mackerel in the center.
  3. Around it, arrange small piles of pickled beets or turnips, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, and flatbread crisps.
  4. Add any additional fresh veggies you love—think radishes, carrot sticks, or even grilled asparagus—for extra vibrancy and texture.
