  • 1 can of Gold Seal Wild Mackerel in Olive Oil, drained
  • 2 bagels, halved and toasted
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • 1–2 tbsp chipotle sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 garlic clove (optional, for rubbing on bagels)
  • Pickled red onions
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Butter (optional, for toasting)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix the drained mackerel with cream cheese and chipotle sauce until smooth and well combined.
  2. Toast the bagels until golden, then (optional) rub the cut side of a garlic clove across each half for extra flavour.
  3. Spread the mackerel-chipotle mixture generously onto each bagel half.
  4. Top with pickled onions and jalapeños for a tangy, spicy kick.
