BBQ Mackerel Foil Packet

What could be better than a delicious dinner fresh off the grill? Only the dinner that needs no clean up! Our BBQ Mackerel Foil Packets has literally everything you need for a healthy and balanced meal: fresh seasonal veggies, MSC certified Gold Seal mackerel and tangy dressing.


  • 10 Stalks asparagus, white ends trimmed off
  • 1 can (115g each) Gold Seal Mackerel (Olive Oil)
  • 8 sundried black olives, pitted
  • 2 Tsp capers
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes
  • Juice and Zest of ½ lemon
  • Coarse salt to taste


  1. Preheat oven or BBQ to 400°F
  2. Meanwhile, rip 2 pieces of tinfoil into large pieces, big enough to close up with all ingredients inside
  3. Start your Pouches by layering asparagus, followed by Mackerel, olives, capers and tomatoes
  4. Drizzle the olive oil from the Mackerel over all ingredients. Finish with a squeeze of lemon, lemon rind, and coarse salt
  5. Bake or grill for 8-10 minutes until asparagus is tender but crisp and mackerel is heated through
